Child Data & Safety

The Brainwiz AI Assessment is taken by children aged 12 to 18. This page explains, in plain language, how we keep them safe during the assessment and how we protect their data. It adds to our Privacy Policy, which has the full legal detail.

Our commitments

• Parents are in control. A parent or lawful guardian gives consent before a child takes the assessment, and can withdraw it at any time.
• We collect as little as possible. Only what we need to run the assessment and write the report.
• No ads, no selling data. We never show advertising to children, sell their data, or use it for marketing profiles.
• Reports go to parents. We share a child’s report only with the parent who bought the assessment, or with others they choose.
• Deletion on request. Parents can ask us to delete their child’s data at any time.

Parental consent

India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 requires verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian before a child’s personal data is processed. The adult who buys the assessment confirms that they are the child’s parent or guardian and gives consent at checkout. We verify this through the purchase and the contact details provided, and may ask for further confirmation if something seems wrong.

What we collect from your child

• A first name or nickname, age and class/grade.
• What they type and choose during the assessment, and how long tasks take.

We do not ask for your child’s photo, voice, video, home address, phone number, email, school ID or social media accounts. The assessment does not use the camera or microphone.

How the AI companion is kept safe

• It is limited to the assessment tasks and designed not to discuss unrelated or age-inappropriate topics.
• It never asks children for personal information, and children are reminded not to share any.
• Content filters are used to block harmful or inappropriate responses.
• In some tasks the AI companion may deliberately make a mistake, such as a wrong calculation, to see whether the child notices and questions it. This is part of the design, and is explained to parents in advance.
• We regularly review how the AI companion behaves and improve its safeguards.

How your child’s data is used

• To generate their personalised AI Thinking Report.
• To improve the fairness and quality of the assessment, using de-identified or aggregated data wherever possible.

We do not use your child’s data for behavioural tracking or targeted advertising, and we do not allow our technology partners to use it to train their own AI models.

Who can see the report

The report is sent only to the parent or guardian who bought the assessment. We will share it with your child’s school or educators only if you ask us to. Brainwiz staff can access assessment data only when needed to deliver the service, provide support or keep the assessment safe.

How long we keep it

Assessment data and reports are kept for up to 24 months, so you can access the report and compare progress over time. After that, they are deleted or anonymised. You can ask us to delete them sooner.

Keeping data secure

Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to authorised staff, and we choose service providers who meet strong security standards. If a data breach affects your child, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

Not a diagnosis

The AI Assessment is an educational and developmental tool. It is not an IQ test and not a clinical or psychological assessment. If you have concerns about your child’s wellbeing or development, please speak to a qualified professional.

Your requests and concerns

To see, correct or delete your child’s data, withdraw consent, or report a safety concern, email info@brainwiz.in with “Child data” or “Safety concern” in the subject line. We treat safety concerns as a priority and will respond within 48 hours.
